Dubai, also known as the city of Gold, is one of many cities that will host the illustrious World Quizzing Championship in 2022. While the Middle East prepares for its first football World Cup, we welcome you to join the International Quizzing Association for the world’s greatest quizzing event. This edition is set to be the most exciting in the UAE’s history, and we have just the right proctor to get things started.
Aadil Abdul Khader is the Middle East’s first student ambassador for IQA’s Asia chapter, and he has been a quizzer since middle school. He has always enjoyed being on both sides of the Quizzing arena as both a Quizzer and a Quiz Master. He has a glorious streak of wins spanning multiple contests that dates back to being in the finals of the Hindu Young World quiz finals in Kozhikode, Kerala in 2016 and also includes winning the UAE edition SIF Sastraprathibha contest for the years 2018 and 2019.
He is also the three-time consecutive finalist for the televised Star Quiz challenge from 2017 to 2019, and is a two-time winner of the UAE’s Bic mastermind Quiz contests in 2017 and 2018, which was organized by Andrew Scolt of Derek O’Brien & Associates. He has also won other prestigious events, most notably the 2018 edition of the Arabian Challenge (presided by Gautam Bose), as well as the 2017 edition of the Credence UAE Quizmasters tournament (presided by Adittya Nath Mubayi).
The list does not stop there. Aadil has always enjoyed public speaking and has earned a “Competent Communicator” award from the Apple Gavels Club, which is affiliated with Toastmasters International. He enjoys debating and led his school team to the finals of the Curtin University Case Study competition in 2019, which focused on artificial intelligence. He was also a member of the Crescent English High School Dubai editorial team, which was chosen as one of 12 finalists in the Gulf News Young Editors contest, which was organised by Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority. As part of the contest, their work was published in a reputable daily.
Now in his second year of a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Management at Canadian University Dubai, he aspires to create a larger platform for quizzing to thrive in the UAE. He is an enthusiastic quizzer who encourages others to participate. He will be on hand to share knowledge and make quizzing fun as the proctor for WQC 2022’s Dubai event. Don’t miss out on the action, which will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Be there or be square, as the saying goes.
